Deputy Head of Primary

Role Description

Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Victoria) Ltd is seeking a Deputy Head of Primary for Gilson College, Taylors Hill Campus. This role is a full-time permanent position that commences Term 1, 2024.

Applicants will need to hold, at a minimum, a Bachelor of Education (with a Master of Education preferred) and have 5+ years of full-time experience as a teacher. Applicants with demonstrated skills in leadership and administration will have an advantage.

The Deputy Head of Primary will support the Head of Primary in leading significant areas and/or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school’s Primary Education Program.

Applicants will need to demonstrate that they:

• Are a practising member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the Adventist Education system.
• Have a solid understanding of various learning and teaching strategies, understandings and skills in the area of primary education.
• Can show a history of outstanding teaching practice, with demonstrated administrative and leadership skills being desirable.
• Can foster and develop appropriate relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider church and school communities.
• Are willing to support the vision, mission and strategic goals of the school.
